MTB — Backcountry

Multi-day backcountry mountainbike journeys — point-to-point routes on terrain that rewards riders with endurance who can adapt.

Upcoming Adventures

Backcountry mountain biking means riding terrain — on trails and off them. Passes, tracks, and routes that exist because people and animals have always moved through them — or that were explicitly built for the flow experience.

Tunduk MTB trips are multi-day point-to-point expeditions. Some are self-supported; others benefit from logistical assistance. Our destinations span different countries and landscapes — from the mountain systems of Central Asia to trails closer to Europe.

IZ — a term from the cosmology of Central Asian tradition — stands for trace and inner substance. We use it as the embodiment of the marks left behind and the presence that trail sports demand.

Who Is This For

tunduk MTB trips (IZ) are for experienced mountainbikers who are comfortable with technical terrain, multi-day physical output, and routes where conditions change and hike-a-bike sections can be part of the journey.

The ability to handle basic mechanical issues independently in remote environments matters.

If you ride to see what’s on the other side of the pass, you’re in the right place.

Terrain-led routes

Routes are chosen because the terrain is worth riding — not because it’s accessible or proven. Passes, valley tracks, and backcountry lines through landscapes that see almost no other cyclists.

You ride every metre

Support vehicles carry luggage on trips where assistance is available. They do not carry riders. Every kilometre of the route is covered on the bike — that’s the only condition that doesn’t change between trips.

Beyond one region

tunduk MTB routes span different landscapes and countries. The common thread is not geography — it is terrain quality, remoteness, and the kind of riding that stays with you.
